Right at the very end of the Docklands Light Railway sits Woolwich, an area best known for the Royal Arsenal which was responsible for manufacturing arms for the British Army. The area is nestled on the south-eastern banks of the river Thames which provides many riverside walks. It’s a part of the capital that is steeped in history and visitors flock here to see the sights and soak up information in the various museums. Woolwich is also well connected to the rest of the city making it a perfect base to get out and explore. It has its own DLR (Docklands Light Railway) station, two Thames crossing points (ferry and foot tunnel) and the Thames Clipper’s which will take you to central London.
