London’s West End is the beating heart of central London. Famous for its fantastic range of theatres, attractions, hotels and shopping, there’s always something happening on these iconic streets. The area is not defined by a municipal boundary but is essentially a collective name for some of the most happening parts of London. Broadly speaking these include Oxford Street and Bond Street, Soho, Theatreland, Chinatown, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. It is an exceptionally large area so you’ll need to travel by bus, tube or taxi but there are plenty of all three so getting around is easy. The West End boasts the city’s best theatres (more than 40 of them!), art galleries, museums, cinemas, restaurants and shops so it’s no wonder it’s one of the most visited tourist destinations in the capital. It’s safe to say that we could spend hours detailing all the things to do whilst you are here but instead, we’ll just highlight some of the top attractions for you! These include the British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery, London Eye, London Transport Museum and Churchill War Rooms to name but a few! There is certainly plenty to keep you busy in addition to catching a show, shopping and experiencing cuisines from around the world. The West End really does have it all.
