Newham is a borough in east London that has seen some much-needed regeneration in the last decade due mainly to the fact that it was home to a large proportion of the 2012 Olympic Games. As a result of this, the area has benefitted from an influx of cafes, restaurants and attractions that continue to draw in thousands of tourists each year. Visitors and residents alike can now enjoy the London Aquatics Centre, the London Olympic Stadium and the Queen Elizabeth Park. It has also become home to one of the best dining scenes in London’s north east. Beyond its sporting prowess, Newham still has lots to offer including Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre, one of the largest urban shopping malls in Europe with 280 shops! The Excel Arena is also here playing host to huge conferences, exhibitions and events throughout the year. With so much to see and do it’s unlikely you would need to go elsewhere for entertainment but if you did, you’ll be pleased to know that Newham is extremely well connected. The Hammersmith and City, District and Jubilee lines are all in operation in the area alongside the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) allowing you a hassle-free trip into the city, Canary Wharf and beyond.
