Elephant and Castle is a vibrant, central London area south of the river Thames. Just under a mile from London’s cultural river-side hotspot the South Bank, and within 15 minutes of Westminster, the West End and The City, Elephant and Castle enjoys one of the most privileged locations in London. It is rich in culture and history and offers several museums to explore including the iconic Imperial War Museum. Due to its high student population there is also a plethora of pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants giving this part of the capital a busy and thriving nightlife. This is added to by the nearby Southwark Playhouse. Said to be London’s leading off West End venue serving-up high quality work by new and emerging theatre producers. All of this, and the rest of the city, is easily accessible via the Elephant and Castle underground station.
