Located on the Strand in Westminster, the Vaudeville Theatre is an old West End house famous for hosting, like the name suggests, vaudeville shows and musical revues. These days, however, the line-up is a bit more varied, taking in everything from Oscar Wilde revivals to transfers of hit dramas to new comedies. During its 148 years of existence the theatre has been home to some truly iconic productions including Shirley Valentine, The Deep Blue Sea and Great Expectations. It has been redesigned several times, the last being in 1926, but has managed to retain its old-world charm. Step inside the auditorium and you’ll find 690 seats across three levels, in a space that’s tastefully and traditionally decorated. Pre or post show, the theatres excellent location will put you in good stead for taking in some of the capital’s top attractions. The London Transport Museum, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Leicester Square are all within a 10-minute walk of the Vaudeville. And with Charing Cross Underground Station just a few minutes away, the rest of London is also at your fingertips!
