The University of the Arts London (UAL) is Europe’s largest specialist art and design university, with over 19,000 students from more than 130 countries. Established in 2004, the UAL brings together six esteemed arts, design, fashion and media colleges, which were founded in the 19th and early 20th centuries; Camberwell College of Arts, Central St Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion and Wimbledon College of Arts. The most famous of which is arguably St Martins, which has produced some of the art and fashion world’s most recognised names, including Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen. All six sites have good transport links into central London, so the hustle and bustle of the capital is never too far away.
