Whitechapel is probably most famous for its notorious resident, Jack the Ripper, and his murderous spree in the late 19th century. However, fast forward 130 years and the area is one of the most unique in London. A lively east London suburb, it’s home to world class galleries and famed curry houses and you’ll be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavour of the area. It has its own tube station making it easily accessible and is only a short walk from the shiny skyscrapers of Bank and Tower Bridge.
