Traditionally known for its famous maritime connections, Greenwich is today a thriving and very popular part of south-east London. The area is nestled along the southern banks of the River Thames which hosts some amazing waterside pubs, museums and visitor attractions. It would be easy for any tourist to spend a whole day here soaking up the romantic baroque architecture, strolling through the parks, admiring the impressive views across London and learning all about science, navigation and history. A visit here almost feels like a retreat from some of the city's more hectic districts. One of the most unmissable attractions must be The Royal Observatory where you can stand with a foot in each hemisphere! That’s something to tick off the bucket list! Or head to the National Maritime Museum or hop aboard the iconic Cutty Sark for a tour of the ship. If that’s not enough, you can also head to East Greenwich where the more modern attractions of the O2 Arena and the Emirates Air Line cable car can be found.
