Bermondsey is a young, hip and vibrant area just south of the river Thames in the shadow of Tower Bridge. This sophisticated urban centre has become a food and cultural hotspot with an abundance of cafes, restaurants, galleries and excellent food markets. The iconic Borough Market is also just a short walk away. Aside from indulging in the many culinary delights, this part of the city also boasts some fantastic riverside walks where you can take in many of south London’s landmarks such as the Globe Theatre and the Oxo Tower. Many other major attractions are within walking distance including the Shard, Southbank and HMS Belfast to name a few. The area also puts you in good stead to explore the rest of the capital. Simply hop on the tube at Bermondsey underground station and you can be in Bond Street in 12 minutes and Canary Wharf in just under 10! One of the few things you won’t find on your doorstep here however is green, open space. Bermondsey really is as urban as you can get!
