The Aldgate area of London is heavily dominated by the insurance industry and is often referred to as the gateway to the financial district that is Canary Wharf. It's a neighbourhood that is dwarfed by modern buildings and tall glass office blocks with futuristic design. However, don't be fooled into thinking that that's all this area has to offer! It is in fact steeped in history and if you walk around some of the cobbled streets and look up, you will see a rich tapestry of old and new.
